Harvey Gibson – Communications Coordinator

The STA and HAL Insurance is pleased to announce a new addition to the team, Harvey. Harvey is the Communications Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Trucking Association Group of Companies, which includes the STA, HAL Insurance, Canadian Sports Insurance Broker and Canadian Transportation Consultants Inc.

Harvey is a recent graduate from the University of Regina with a BFA in Film Production. Before coming to Regina, Harvey was contracted to work on independent feature-length films, such as Fear Clinic (2014) and The Charnel House (2016), in the US. He has also done some work more locally, for the Regina International Film Festival and Awards (RIFFA) and the Living Skies Student Film Festival.

“My background is mainly in film,” Harvey said, “but I know that the skills I’ve developed in social media and communications in that area are transferable to other fields. I’m really excited to learn a new industry and to apply what I’ve learned during my degree in a practical way.”

Originally from Saskatoon, Harvey moved to Regina to finish his degree after completing two years at the University of Saskatchewan. “I’ve been here for going on five years now and Regina has some of the most welcoming people I’ve ever met. It was really easy to find a new community here. I’m definitely not homesick anymore. Regina has been good to me in terms of getting my feet under myself after finishing school, and putting down some roots to learn and grow.”

It comes as no surprise, but Harvey is an avid internet denizen. An enthusiast for new and transformative media, he enjoys keeping up with local and global news, internet trends, video games, and pop culture in his spare time.
